In today's digital landscape, attention is easy to gain--but sustained support requires strategy. "Pipeline Power" explores how organizations can strategically harness digital activity to identify, qualify, and cultivate prospects for major gifts.
This session focuses on building an intentional bridge between digital engagement data and frontline fundraising strategy. Attendees will learn how to use behavior signals to surface high-potential prospects earlier in the donor lifecycle, incorporate prospect scores and segments in digital audiences, and equip gift officers with actionable intelligence focused on qualification and cultivation.
"Pipeline Power" will demonstrate how the South Dakota State University Alumni & Foundation team has built a robust digital engagement strategy, offering participants with a practical framework for moving supporters from digital touchpoints to deeper relationships. This session will also examine the significance of cross-team collaboration across marketing, alumni engagement, data systems, and development, to support a robust, strategic, digital engagement pipeline program.
While grounded in SDSU's experience, the information shared is intended to be broadly applicable to institutions seeking scalable approaches to fundraising growth with a goal for participants to leave with actionable takeaways for building donor pipelines.

Maggie Miller is the Director of Prospect Management and Research with the South Dakota State University Alumni & Foundation. Maggie is a native of Brookings, SD, and obtained her bachelor’s degree in English at Hamline University (St. Paul, MN) and a master’s degree in higher education administration from Iowa State University (Ames, IA). Prior to working in fundraising, Maggie spent 10 years working professionally in student affairs in higher education, specifically with college student housing, new student orientation/transition programs, and first-year student programming.
Maggie has worked in prospect development since 2022 and is passionate about blending people and processes supporting SDSU Jackrabbits!
