Join the Apra-Mid Atlantic group for an engaging panel discussion on International Prospecting! Come with questions and leave with a resource list that will help you uncover information on your international donors, foundations, and corporations.

Jay Frost

Over the last three decades, Jay Frost has worked to identify and pursue billions in fundraising opportunities for thousands of charitable organizations around the world. 

He has been recognized as one of America's Top 10 Fundraising Experts by Philanthropy Media, one of the Top Eight Fundraising Influencers by Elevation Media, one of the Top Nonprofit Fundraising Consultants by Double the Donation, and one of the Top 100 Charity Influencers by Onalytica.

Jay serves as Brand Ambassador for DonorSearch, where he hosts of the Masterminds Series, which has provided over 500 webinars, livecasts, and podcasts with leaders in the fundraising and philanthropy world to over 50,000 attendees since 2016.

Jay is also a fundraising consultant to domestic and international nonprofits. He advises organizations at all stages of their efforts, from startup through capital campaigns.  

A popular speaker, Jay has addressed hundreds of meetings in the US, UK, Canada, Asia, and the Middle East, including sixteen Apra International conferences and numerous regional and chapter meetings.  He is a past member of the Apra International Board, and former international conference chair, former president of Apra Metro DC, and recipient of the International Prospector Award for Excellence in Prospect Research.

Beth Bandy

Beth has been an independent researcher and consultant serving nonprofits and community-minded businesses around the world since 2011. She is experienced in domestic research projects, and also specializes in researching international companies and fundraising prospects. She has delivered training sessions on fundraising, operations, and governance issues for organizations in the US, Canada, the EU, and South Africa. Earlier in her career, Beth worked for Harvard University’s Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations; was Director of Development Research at Amherst College; and contributed to fundraising efforts at Bennington College in various capacities, including as Manager of Research and Director of Advancement Operations. She earned an ALB (social sciences concentration) from Harvard University. She spends her free time sea kayaking, running, cycling, doing yoga, and volunteering with local nonprofits near her home in midcoast Maine.

Sue Tierney

Sue Tierney has been Prospect Research Analyst at Cornell University’s Alumni Affairs and Development Office of Prospect Development since 2007.  She is currently the Principal Gift research liaison and has expertise in principal gifts (capacity over $10M) and international research.  Sue is also an expert on private equity and hedge fund, private and public company, and family wealth research.  Sue also conducts reputational research on major and principal gift prospects.  Sue has previously been a member of APRA Upstate New York board of directors, and has also taught many APRA workshops covering topics including venture capital, international research, capacity ratings, and private business valuation.  Sue earned a bachelor of arts in sociology at Cornell University and recently celebrated her 35th anniversary as a Cornell employee.  In her spare time, Sue volunteers as the founder and contributor of the JoniMitchell.com Guitar and Piano Database, and knits obsessively.  

Thomas Turner

Thomas Turner is the Regional Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics at International Justice Mission, the world's largest anti-slavery organization and a global leader in the fight to end everyday violence against the poor. With almost 15 years of experience in research and data analysis in the corporate and non-profit industries, Thomas currently leads a team that provides business intelligence, prospect development, reporting, data analytics and data stewardship to advancement teams in both the US and Canada.
